How to Root Galaxy S4 Verizon SCH I545 on Android 4 2 2 VRUAME7 Jelly Bean Firmware

Samsung Galaxy S4 (Verizon) SCH-I545 users who have already updated their devices with Android 4.2.2 VRUAME7 Jelly Bean, may root their devices using the tutorial below.

This tutorial uses Root Exploit package created by Recognized XDA-Developers, DooMLoRD, which later modified by PWM978 to make it work on Galaxy S4 (Verizon) SCH-I545. The Root Exploit package allowing Galaxy S4 users to root their devices easily without having to wipe the device or flash a full prerooted factory image. Its completely supports Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean with firmware build number I545VRUAME7.

Pre-requisites
1. Install USB Drivers for Samsung Galaxy S4 on the computer.
2. Install Android Terminal Emulator on your device.
3. Enable USB Debugging Mode on the phone by navigating to Settings >> Developer Options.
4. Make a backup of all your important data before following the guide.
5. Ensure the battery of the phone is charged more than 80 per cent.
6. The Root Exploit package works only on Samsung Galaxy S4 (Verizon) SCH-I545 running on Android 4.2.2 VRUAME7 Jelly Bean firmware. Applying this to any incorrect variant might brick the device. Verify the model number of the Galaxy S4 by navigating to Settings >> About Phone.

Steps to Root Galaxy S4 (Verizon) SCH-I545 Running on Android 4.2.2 VRUAME7 Jelly Bean Firmware
Step 1: Extract Root Exploit package using winrar/7zip/winzip or any other extracting tool.
Step 2: Insert a microSD card into your device. Make sure it is formatted as exFAT (not FAT32).

Note: If you have a 64GB microSD card you can use your phone to format it as exFAT by default directly from the Storage settings. However, if you have anything less than 64GB microSD card you may have to use the computer to format it manually as exFAT. Remember, if your microSD card is not formatted as exFAT you will see "permission denied" errors when running the exploit.

Step 3: Connect the Galaxy S4 to the computer using USB cable.
Step 4: Copy all files and folders from the Root Exploit package directly onto the root of your microSD card (nowhere else).
Step 5: Open the Android Terminal Emulator app on your phone, then run the following commands:

cd /mnt/extSdCard
./pwn
./script.sh

Note: After running the second command you should have seen your $ change to a # meaning you have root access. The third command is required to make this root access permanent.

Step 6: Once all commands are completed, close the Android Terminal Emulator app and check if SuperSU has any update in the Google Play Store.
Step 7: Open SuperSU app and let the binary update itself to the latest (if any updates are available).
Step 8: Once completed, reboot your device and confirm you still have root access.

Galaxy S4 (Verizon) SCH-I545 running on Android 4.2.2 VRUAME7 Jelly Bean firmware is now rooted successfully.

Steps to Root Galaxy Ace 2 I8160 Running on Android 4.1.2 XXMF2 Jelly Bean Firmware
Step 1: Connect the Galaxy Ace 2 to the computer using USB cable.
Step 2: Copy the root.zip file to the external SD card of your phone.
Step 3: Once the file transfer process is completed, switch off the phone and disconnect it from computer.
Step 4: Boot the device into stock recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up, Home, and Power buttons together. In recovery mode, use the Volume keys to toggle between options and Home/Power button to select the desired option.
Step 5: Select apply update from external storage then navigate to the root.zip file which was earlier copied to the SD card.
Step 6: Select the root.zip file and confirm installation.
Step 7: Once installation process is completed, return to main recovery menu and select Reboot System Now.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 I8160 running on Android 4.1.2 XXMF2 Jelly Bean firmware is now rooted successfully. You can now install any app that requires root permission. Verify the root status of the device by downloading Root Checker app from Google Play Store.

Note: Tested working on Galaxy Ace 2 I8160 with Android 4.1.2 XXMF2 Jelly Bean firmware, should work with other Jelly Bean firmware. Try it and let us know.

    Debit card and Net banking customers need to provide account information while booking, so that cashback can be credited: IFSC code (Indian Financial System Code), Account Number, Account Type (Saving/Current), Account holder’s name, Bank Name, Branch Name and Bank City.
20. Cashback shall be processed to the Bin series provided by the Bank. If the BIN series of the credit card does not match with the one provided by the Bank to MakeMyTrip, then the customer shall approach the Bank and MakeMyTrip reserves the right to withhold or deny the offer to the customer.
21. For any card related claims, the customer shall approach the Bank and MakeMyTrip shall not entertain any such claims.
22. The Customer cannot club two offers in the same booking ID. The cashback benefit cannot be combined with any other promotional benefit offered for bookings on MakeMyTrip, except in scenarios where the other benefit is not extended/funded by MakeMyTrip.
23. If the Customer cancels the travel service purchase after the cashback amount is credited, MakeMyTrip will refund the purchase price after deducting the cashback amount and any other applicable cancellation charges/penalty. For example, if a Customer has paid Rs. 10,000 (price quoted by MakeMyTrip) for a travel service and a cashback of Rs. 1,000 has been credited to the Customer’s account, the net amount paid by the Customer is Rs. 9,000. Thus, if the Customer cancels the booking, MakeMyTrip will deduct the cancellation charge/penalty from Rs. 9,000 and the balance amount will be credited to the Customer’s account.

25. User Agreement and Privacy Policy at MakeMyTrip website shall apply.
